SCOOP: Department of Cannabis Control chief deputy director Rasha Salama is stepping down, effective September 30. A lawsuit filed this week alleges that Salama "severely reprimanded" a direct report, (the plaintiff) for escalating concerns about product safety to law enforcement. The DCC declined to comment. Now for Nicole to follow suit

It's clear that regulators and industry operators have been aware for some time about extensive fraud and contamination in the marketplace. It also seems like much of the recent DCC action has come as a direct result of your reporting Paige St. John and Josh Swider. It is unclear whether the governor or legislature are going to hold the DCC accountable.

I know the east coast always takes a while to catch up to Cali. But I hope it doesn’t take too long when it comes to holding regulators accountable.

The hero of the story is Tanisha Bogans, for being responsible and not being blinded by money. It looks like Rasha Salama was willing to risk the wellbeing of millions of Californians to keep her salary of $172,507.
